Welcome to the ghetto, 2015

So it's the New Year! Yayyy!! 2015 has finally joined the par-tayy. 2014 was a great year for me. But we shall put it in the past now. I was thinking of a new design for this blog but then I was too lazy so naahhh. Besides, I still like how it looks. Anyway, so below are some books I'd like to read this year. My reading choices include less teen fiction, nowadays. Those were the days.

Books

  • Love in The Time of Cholera
  • Anything by Haruki Murakami
  • Snicket's new series
  • Anything by Faulkner
  • Of Mice and Men
  • The Great Gatsby
  • Les Miserables
  • Maybe some teen fiction here and there

That's all I can think of so far. But it will probably increase as the year goes on. I'm planning to release some book spotlights here and some more guides. So stay tuned and Happy new year!

A Fictional Dreamcast: Albus Severus Potter (HP Nextgen)

I've finally released my Albus dreamcast! Here we have the adorable and amazing actor, Logan Lerman as the second Potter son. So, basically, if James Sirius is the cocky self-proclaimed king and Lily Luna is the cute little sweetheart, we almost have no place left for poor little Albus. Well, I do imagine Albus to be the different and overshadowed one. But I also envision him to be Harry's favorite. He is the most brilliant of the three siblings but he likes undermine himself sometimes. What got him into Slytherin is not being manipulative like Dom or blindless determination like Rose. It was his cunning and street-smarts. He is also very determined but less like Rose. He is willing to bend some rules here and there to get his goals and ambitions. He is very ambitious, usually having very high-dreams for himself, yet he is also very closed off. Plus, he's amazing at Potions. That's my loose outline on the second Potter son. Hope you enjoyed it!

So, it's the new year!! (I'll make a post about that later.) But for now, I present to you my new moodboard. Ta-daaa!! So, recently I read One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and I had so many feels while reading it. This can only describe some of the many many emotions I felt. It was so heartbreaking and meaningful and I just can't. The book gave me a whole new reading experience, basically. This moodboard is also for all the books, movies and shows that ended horrifically. (I'M LOOKING AT YOU ,GAME OF THRONES!!)

Fictionally Ranting: Narnia, The Last Battle

Ok I wanted to do a rants page for all the emotions I feel when reading/watching certain books/movies. I'm not sure how different this is from my tea and thoughts segment but let's just say this is much much harsher and this segment lacks ALL the formalities that my tea thoughts segment has. I'm probably just going to keyboard smash my way into this post.

I read the last book of the Narnia Chronicles, The Last Battle, when I was about 9 or 10. I never really fully understood the ending and all because of everything that's going on in the book. But today I happened to read Neil Gaiman's short story, "The Problem of Susan." AND I AM NOT FINE. NEVER WILL I BE FINE. I WILL LIVE MY FREAKIN LIFE IN DARKNESS. MY CHILDHOOD CRUMBLED TO DUST. WHY? WHY??? (p.s. read on only if you are brave and emotionally stable enough to handle such a big reveal.)

A Fictional Dreamcast: Dominique Weasley (HP Nextgen)

The dreamcasts are baack! Except this time, with better graphics. I know I promised to do an Albus but my head is all out of headcanons for our youngest Potter son. So, I decided to do a Dominique instead. Dominique Weasley is the second daughter of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour. I've dreamcasted the ever wonderful Freya Mavor as my Dominique which I think she can carry well. My idea of Dom is she likes to put up an innocent front. Everybody thinks she is an innocent, sweet little girl who can do no harm. Many were even shocked that she was sorted into Slytherin in the first place. But the truth is, she belongs there. She is clever, using the innocent front to lure people into doing her bidding. Only Louis and Victoire, her siblings know how manipulative she can be. She likes having people play her little games. She is childish at times and immature and has a tendency to be extremely insecure. Despite being manipulative, she is also naive. She can fall into other people's traps as well, usually suffering a dose of her own medicine. But to be honest, she's just wants to be loved.

So, that's my loose outlook on Dom. Maybe, next time I'll do the Albus or a Victoire or a Louis. Depends.

Give me a Weasley sweater,

Mah moodboard dedicated to mah wondahful homies. Yes, if you are reading this, I have included a gif that probably describes each and every one of you best. Why? Because I'm cool like that. Anywho, enjoy this moodboard! I actually find it quite amusing, to be honest. Remember bros before hoes and all those other friendship related quotes. Anyway, I wonder what moodboard I'll be making next. They're just so damn fun to make, you know.

Moodboards and friends,

Fictional Wishlist Item No. 2

A new day brings in a new item for our wishlist right here. And that is...

Ta-da!! I always wanted a Moleskine notebook. Maybe, it's the fact that Hemingway used to own one of these or maybe, it's that feeling of distinction you get when you hold the leather cover and flip through the pages with your hands. But well, this has always been out of my reach. One of these days, though I assure you I will finally be able to get one of these. Someday, not tomorrow or today or not even for a very long time. But someday.

Things I'm going to do with a Moleskine notebook:
  • Use it as a bullet journal
  • Make it into a sketchbook filled with doodles
  • Make it into a journal
  • Use it as a place to record my characters
  • Use it to light the funeral pyre of my enemies (haha just joking!)
[insert cordial goodbye],
